Candidate Statement

I’m an immigrant, a technology engineer, a small business owner, and a proud Ohioan and American citizen. Since arriving in 1989, I have experienced nothing but warmth, generosity, and kindness from the people of this great nation. Now it’s my turn to give back — to serve, to lead, and to make sure Ohioans win.

My goal is simple: stretch every hard-earned tax dollar further so anyone working 40 hours a week can live with dignity and still have time for what matters — time for their kids, to help with homework, to attend parent-teacher conferences, to enjoy friends and community, and to pursue vocational training that leads to real upward mobility.

I will fight for:

  • Tax incentives for hardworking individuals and families
  • Truly affordable healthcare
  • Federal policies that revitalize Rust Belt Ohio
  • Ohio that wins again

America is the most technologically advanced nation in history — from bridges and railroads to the internet and rockets, from airplanes to artificial intelligence, we have led the world and raised living standards for all humanity. Today's top 7 corporations are worth $22 trillion! Yet Ohio is on decline. Ohio has been neglected by both parties for decades. Our congressional seats have shrunk from 21 to 15 while other states race ahead in the technology economy. It’s time to change that.

I will champion policies that make emerging technologies accessible to our youth and small businesses, massively expand skills-based training, and build the ecosystem Ohio needs to thrive in this new era.

Today, over 80 % of Congress comes from law or political science backgrounds; fewer than 4 % have engineering, science, or technology experience. To shape a future driven by technology, we need representatives who actually understand it — leaders who ensure progress serves people, not just corporate donors and lobbyists.

Both parties have drifted to extremes: “healthcare for all” vs. “healthcare for none,” open borders vs. closed borders. As an Independent, I will be the voice of reason — bringing balance, common sense, and results-oriented governance back to Washington. History proves it: the longest government shutdown could have been avoided with just a handful of independents willing to put country over party.

Let’s build the future together. Let’s build America 2.0 — starting right here with Ohio 2.0.  Join the conversation: Instagram   Facebook    YouTube   X   Snapchat   Snapchat   Email

About Me

After graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1989, I arrived at North Carolina State University in Raleigh at age 21 to pursue graduate studies. In 1992, I earned a Master’s in Integrated Manufacturing Systems Engineering.

That same year, I began my career as a shop-floor process automation engineer. In 1994, I moved to Northeast Ohio, where I’ve lived and worked ever since. While holding a full-time job, I completed my MBA at Cleveland State University through evening and weekend classes.

Driven by a passion for innovation, I founded a software development and services company in 1996. Like many entrepreneurs, I weathered severe challenges — the dot-com crash of 2000 and the financial crisis of 2007–2008. Those difficult years taught me a lasting truth: success ultimately depends on hard work, resilience, and contributing to society to the best of our abilities. I am living proof that America still runs on the grit of individuals and the innovation of small businesses — the true engine of our rising standard of living.

Community service has always been central to my life. I currently serve as:
- A committee member of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
- A board member of the Mayfield Village Parks and Recreation Department
- Organizer of the city’s annual Yoga Festival since 2018

In the past, I served as president of local community organizations and as national president of a prominent Indian-American association representing members across 100 cities in all 50 states. During my tenure, I launched weekend educational programs for children, a professional networking and entrepreneurship platform, and expanded services for senior citizens. Members still remember that term as one of the most effective and impactful in recent decades.

Core beliefs

#1. If you want something, you have to work for it.
#2. A society's worth is measured by how it cares for the less fortunate among us.
#3. A rule of impartial, fair, and just law.

Vision

My goal is to stretch every hard-earned tax dollar further so anyone working 40 hours a week can live with dignity — and still have time for their kids, help with homework, attend parent-teacher conferences, enjoy community, and pursue vocational training that leads to real upward mobility.
I want tax incentives for hardworking individuals and families, truly affordable healthcare, affordable housing and federal policies that help Rust Belt Ohio become a successful player in the new manufacturing growth economy. Ohioans shall win!

Taxes

#1. Expand the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) for workers without children to $1,500
#2. Ohio Skills Surge Credit — up to $4,000/year ($6,000 for high-demand apprenticeships in advanced manufacturing, EV tech, HVAC, Robotics programming, etc.)
#3. Buckeye Builder Boost — up to $5,000 per new employee for small-business expansion
#4. Heartland Home Retrofit Credit — up to $3,200/year for energy-efficiency upgrades that create green jobs

Education

Dramatically increase funding (from the current ~$19 billion) for vocational training Make America Skilled Again program, the Federal Apprenticeship program, and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. Develop programs for the new growth industry of autonomous vehicles, robotics, and artificial intelligence.

Jobs

• Raise the federal minimum wage from $7.25/hour to $15/hour (with commonsense exemptions for truly rural areas).
• Pass a comprehensive national right-to-repair act so technology is accessible to all, creating knowledge-based jobs and training opportunities in states that have fallen behind.

H-1B

Publish every H-1B job opening on a national, public Department of Labor website with full job description, location, and salary. Allow U.S. citizens to apply directly and to challenge postings if the role can be filled domestically by someone with similar background or education.

Housing

Right now in Ohio, you need to earn about $22.50 an hour just to afford a basic two-bedroom apartment without being cost-burdened. But many renters in Akron, Canton, and the surrounding towns are making far less. That gap is why families are stuck, living paycheck to paycheck, or doubling up. Property taxes, utilities and electricity have gone up by 10-15% In OH-13, there are nearly 20,000 fewer homes affordable to low-income families than there are households. We need affordable housing. I support the following with requirement to use local labor, local material and small businesses:

  • 20% trade-able/transferable capital tax credit for developers
  • Property tax holiday for 10 years
  • Allocating state owned lands (vacant plots/unused warehouses/defunct factories) at 20% subsidized rate

Gun rights

I strongly support Second Amendment rights while requiring comprehensive education that builds responsibility and empathy. Starting in high school, every student should receive mandatory training that covers:

  • gun safety and safe handling
  • responsible ownership and secure storage
  • consequences of misuse
  • understanding different scenarios where firearms may or may not be appropriate
  • empathy and respect for those who have lost loved ones to gun violence
  • awareness of differing beliefs, abilities, and needs across age groups and genders

Responsible ownership includes both the right to bear arms and the duty to use them wisely. Education — not confiscation — is the commonsense way to honor the Second Amendment while saving lives.

Healthcare

#1. Empower private-sector providers
#2. Strengthen the ACA with lower deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses
#3. Pass the Healthcare Transparency Act — require every hospital to publish clear, comparable prices so families can shop wisely and save money

Abortion

Pro-life, with required age-appropriate education on pregnancy starting in high school, insurance coverage for birth control, full consent in procreation, and exceptions when the mother’s life is at risk.

Medicaid

Medicaid funds already go to hospitals and doctors for care. I support folding non-elderly, non-disabled Medicaid benefits into a stronger, more efficient ACA so people have portable private coverage instead of a permanent government program.

SNAP

Redirect $100 billion of SNAP spending into the Make America Skilled Again initiative with real work or training requirements, ensuring able-bodied adults move quickly into jobs, earnings, and dignified, self-sufficient lives.

Israel / Palestine

I support the right of both Israel and Palestine to exist and to self-govern securely. Real progress will come only through dialogue and mutual recognition. Any organization — anywhere — whose ideology includes the abuse of women, children, or the elderly must be completely dismantled. Humanity has no future built on unjust values.
